Department of Energy (DOE) Federal minimum energy conservation standards level for Single Package Vertical Units (SPVU) air conditioners and heat pumps with a cooling capacity less than 65,000 Btu/h are changing.
- Effective September 23, 2019, SPVU equipment manufactured must meet the following minimum efficiencies based upon cooling capacity
- 65,000 Btu/h or less
- A/C 11.0 EER
- H/P 11.0 EER 3.3 COP
- Effective October 9th, 2015, SPVU equipment manufactured must meet the following minimum efficiencies based on cooling capacity
- >65,000-<135,000 Btu/h
- A/C 10.0 EER
- H/P 10.0 EER 3.0 COP
- Effective October 9th, 2016, SPVU equipment manufactured must meet the following minimum efficiencies based on cooling capacity
- >135,000-<240,000 Btu/h
- A/C 10.0 EER
- H/P 10.0 EER 3.0 COP
