MADISON, GA — Bard Manufacturing Company, a fifth-generation, family-owned leader in the HVAC industry, is nearing completion of a 106,000-square-foot expansion at its Madison, Georgia manufacturing facility, further reinforcing the company’s 112-year commitment to investing in American manufacturing, innovation, and local communities.
Expected to be completed in Q4 2026, the expansion increases production capacity, enhances operational efficiencies, and strengthens Bard’s ability to meet growing demand for HVAC technologies. The project represents another long-term investment by Bard in the future of American manufacturing.
“For more than 112 years, Bard has proudly invested in American manufacturing,” said Bill Steel, 4th Generation Bard Family Member, President and CEO. “This expansion reflects our continued confidence in the HVAC industry, our employees, and the Madison community. We are building for the future by increasing our capabilities, strengthening our operations, and continuing to invest in the people and communities that support our business.”
The expansion includes additional production capacity, automatic tool-changing press brakes, robotic systems to support manufacturing operations, and expanded additive manufacturing (3D printing) capabilities. The project also includes a new access road designed to improve traffic flow and enhance site safety. The expansion itself is cooled using Bard’s own MEGA-TEC product line, showcasing the company’s HVAC solutions within its manufacturing operations.
As Bard continues to grow in Madison, the company remains focused on creating long-term opportunities for the local workforce and supporting education initiatives throughout the community. Bard recently launched a state-registered apprenticeship program designed to upskill technical employees and provide participants with journeyman certification, further strengthening career pathways in advanced manufacturing.
In addition to workforce development efforts, Bard invests in local education and community organizations through initiatives such as a $20,000 scholarship awarded annually to a graduating Morgan County High School senior who will be majoring in engineering or business, as well as annual contributions supporting the Boys & Girls Clubs of North Central Georgia, Madison Rotary Club and Madison Kiwanis Club fundraising efforts.
“The Bard family mission includes ‘leaving all Bard campsites nicer than we found them,’” said Pam Bard Steel, Chairwoman of the Managing Partners. “That philosophy guides how we approach our business, our employees, and the communities where we operate. In Madison, that means investing not only in manufacturing and jobs, but also in education, workforce development, and organizations that help strengthen the community for future generations. Madison has played an important role in Bard’s growth, and we are proud to continue investing in its future.”
